Fitzroy Island is located just 4 kilometres from the mainland of Cairns in North Queensland. Fringed by the Great Barrier Reef, this island is a rare and unspoilt gem that is 339 hectares in size, and covered in lush rainforest that descends dramatically into crystal clear water.

The resort facilities include a contemporary restaurant, large pool with a pool bar and swim up bar, games room, indoor movie theatre and resort mini supermarket.
Try the Secret Garden Walk for a short walk amongst the rainforest and/or the Lighthouse & Summit Trail for a steep walk to the lighthouse for expansive views out to Little Fitzroy Island. Fitzroy is almost completely surrounded by coral reef, making it an excellent place for snorkelling. The most popular spot is Nudey Beach, which is only about one kilometre from the resort.

Please be advised that Fitzroy Island Resort is undergoing upgrades to the resort pool. This work will start with the construction of a lap pool on the front lawn of Block A accommodation, from approximately 12th February 2012. The resort pool will be closed for refurbishment from 27th February until Saturday 31st March 2012. This work is expected to have minimal impact on guests.

Resort Studio: Luxury appointed air-conditioned room with ensuite black marble tiled bathroom. Bedding is 1 King Bed OR 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults & Children.
Beach Cabin: Beach location with two bedrooms, generous balcony and beautiful views across Welcome Bay and the Coral Sea. All cabins feature a black marble ensuite. Walk directly from the front balcony onto the Coral Beach. Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults & Children. **This room type is not available from 1 April 2012**
Ocean Suite: These luxuriously appointed one-bedroom suites include generous balcony and beautiful views across Welcome Bay and the Coral Sea, kitchenette with microwave, toaster & full size fridge, lounge and dining area and ensuite black marble tiled bathroom. Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + Sofa Bed. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults & Children.
2 Bedroom Ocean Suite: Consists of Ocean Suite and Resort Studio room with common entry door. These luxuriously appointed suites include generous balcony and beautiful views across Welcome Bay and the Coral Sea, kitchenette with microwave, toaster and full size fridge and ensuite black marble tiled bathroom. This room type is not suitable for small children in the connecting room. Bedding is 2 Queen Beds + Sofa Bed OR 1 Queen Bed + 2 Single Beds + 1 Sofa Bed. Maximum room capacity is 6 Adults & Children. (not suitable for small children in seperate room)

Access to Fitzroy Island is by boat and takes about 45 minutes.
